You hold the structure of the house. Residents are living their own lives — work, meetings, family — and your job is that the place stays safe, the schedule holds, and somebody notices early when a person starts to drift.
The schedule
- Tuesday 1pm–11pm, and Monday, Friday and Saturday 3pm–11pm.
- Evenings and weekends by design — that is when a sober living house needs staff most.
- On site at Rustic Creek in North Austin.
- Occasional travel to other locations in Texas.
What you will do
- Make sure residents get to their scheduled program activities.
- Give guidance, direction and redirection, and be a person worth modelling.
- Walk routine rounds of the house and report what needs reporting.
- Recognize a crisis and respond to it appropriately.
- Document client interactions accurately in Lightning Step.
- Keep supervisors current on resident behavior, and prepare group attendance reports.
- Hold confidentiality, and the code of ethical conduct that goes with it.
What you need
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- The interpersonal range to be warm and still hold a boundary.
- Basic comfort with Windows and documentation tools.
- Reliability across rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- A valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record — you would drive a company vehicle.
- Composure in a fast-paced environment when something goes wrong.
Preferred, not required
- Any prior experience in behavioral health, recovery housing or peer support.
