You are the steady presence on the floor at Old Oaks — walking rounds, noticing what changes, and holding the structure of the day for people in the earliest and least predictable part of recovery. It is an entry-level job that people build careers out of.
The schedule
- Full time, on site at the Old Oaks Ranch campus in Wimberley.
- Two patterns: five eight-hour days, or four ten-hour days.
- Three shifts — 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm, or 11pm to 7am.

What you will do
- Monitor client behavior and document what you observe.
- Complete rounds every thirty minutes to keep the floor safe.
- Help with admissions, discharges and transport.
- Encourage recovery-focused behavior, and redirect when someone drifts.
- Hold respectful, professional boundaries while still offering real support.
What you need
Required
- Compassion, and steadiness under pressure.
- Strong communication and emotional resilience.
- A liking for structure and calm — this is not a job that rewards improvisation.
- Willingness to make the Wimberley drive.
Preferred, not required
- Any experience in behavioral health, healthcare or peer support.
- Plans to become a counselor, case manager, nurse or recovery coach — this role is a direct route into all four.
