• Insurance Advocacy: We don’t just do a cursory check; we go to bat for you. If an insurance initially denies coverage, we will advocate and appeal if appropriate. Sometimes, insurers might say “outpatient detox isn’t covered, try inpatient.” If outpatient is safer or more feasible for you, we can argue that medical necessity. We’ve had success getting approvals overturned by providing additional info or peer-to-peer discussions with insurance doctors. You likely won’t even be aware of these behind-the-scenes battles – we handle them, keeping you informed of results.

• Flexible Payment Plans: For any costs that you do owe (deductibles, copays, or self-pay fees), Briarwood offers flexible payment options. You don’t necessarily have to pay everything upfront. We can set up a payment plan that spreads costs over time, often with no interest. For example, if you owe $1000, we might divide that into monthly payments that fit your budget. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, and even online payments via PayPal for convenience.

• Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and HSA Funds: If you have an Employee Assistance Program benefit through work, it might cover some initial treatment or give referrals. We coordinate with EAPs if applicable. Also, if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), detox is a qualified medical expense you can use those funds for. Using pre-tax dollars from an HSA can save you money. We can provide any documentation you need for reimbursement from such accounts (our billing statements are detailed and coded properly).

• Financing Options: In some cases, we can connect you with third-party healthcare credit services (like CareCredit or similar), which allow you to finance treatment costs and pay over time, sometimes with promotional no-interest periods. This is usually used if someone is private-pay or has a higher out-of-pocket. Our admissions advisors can walk you through application if needed.

• Affordable Pricing & Transparency: We strive to keep our outpatient detox program cost-effective. Outpatient detox generally costs significantly less than inpatient because you’re not paying for 24/7 room and board. Yet you still get high-quality medical care. We will gladly discuss the cash-pay rate for our program if you’re curious or if you have no insurance. Briarwood’s pricing is competitive and we’re upfront about it. Keep in mind, the exact cost can vary depending on the length of detox (some people need 3 days, others 5 or 7 – it’s individualized) and any additional services required. But we’ll give a reasonable estimate and update it if the plan changes. Rest assured, we won’t nickel-and-dime; our package typically includes all the essentials (assessments, daily medical oversight, therapy, standard medications). If there are any optional or external costs (like if you needed a specialized medication from a pharmacy, etc.), we’d let you know.

• Most Insurances Accepted: As noted in our materials and by clients, we accept most major insurance plans. There are very few we can’t work with. If by chance you have a unique or out-of-state plan that we aren’t set up for, we can often arrange a single-case agreement with them for your treatment, or guide you on how to get reimbursement if you pay upfront. We try to eliminate financial obstacles wherever possible.
