Step 11 worksheet — building a practice you will keep

Step 11 asks you to keep deliberate contact with the power you chose, through prayer or meditation, and to ask for direction rather than for outcomes.

The distinction in this step is worth the whole page: you are asking to know what to do next, not asking for things to go your way. Most people find that easier to write than to mean.

Free, no email needed. Your browser can also save it as a PDF.

What I have tried

What have I already attempted, and how long did it last?

What made me stop?

When in the day do I actually have ten uninterrupted minutes?

The practice I am committing to

Small and specific survives. "Meditate more" does not. Write the time, the place, and the length.

In the morning I will:

In the evening I will:

Where, and for how long:

What I will do on the days it does not happen:

Asking for direction, not for outcomes

What am I currently asking for that is really a demand for a specific result?

What would it look like to ask what to do next instead?

What became clear this week that I did not work out by thinking?

Before you put this away

A worksheet is a way to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper. It is not the step. Step 11 is worked with a sponsor, a counselor, or someone else who has done it — they will see things in these pages that you cannot see yourself.

Who am I going to show this to, and when?

What did I leave off these pages because I did not want to write it down?

Want all twelve sheets emailed to you?

The worksheet above is free and yours to print right now — you do not need this. But if you would rather work the steps from your inbox, we will send the full set of twelve.

We will not call or text you about this, and we do not share your address. Downloading a worksheet tells us nothing about you medically and is not treated as a request for treatment.
